Rubio Will Get The Veep Nod

And that’s not good. Not good at all.

Let’s see. Pick some boring white guy that nobody’s heard of to team up with the boring and really annoying white guy that everyone’s heard of, or get a good looking, witty, Hispanic Teabagger who can carry Florida and go right to the heart with the most crucial demographic in this election?

Which would you do?

Romney will pick Rubio, probably this week. And if he doesn’t, he’s reduced his chances of victory by at least 50%. It’s as simple as that. With Rubio, Obama will have to push very hard in Florida, and will be challenged head-on in the West. Virginia will come roaring back into play too. Suddenly, the hidden Hispanic minority in Mid-western and swing states will become very popular.

Thereisnoplan has been fretting about a Rubio VP nod for months. He initially ruled himself out, but Romney’s probably been making promises to him of all sorts of nefarious kinds to get him back in the game.
Rubio gives Romney the conservative credentials he lacks, as well as making him look like an elder statesman who knows a thing or two to people who don’t know any better.

And for Rubio, the equation is simple. He gets to national status even if he goes down with the ship, because nobody is going to blame him, when there’s a schmuck like Romney heading the ticket. At the ripe old age of 42, he’d be a major Presidential candidate for the next 4-5 cycles at least. God help us.

Compared to the dirt on other candidates, Rubio’s only mildly corrupt, and he’ll rally the activists and base like nobody else. Plus for what it’s worth, he’ll make Joe look like Grandpa in the Veep debate.

There are really very few negatives about this guy, except for one, he’s a dangerous right-wing nutjob who wants to eviscerate what’s left of the American social contract.

But Republicans regard that as a good thing.
